Introduction
These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of the BuyMyTEK website, Seller Hub, ValueSight features, trade-in tools, Business IT intake, communications, and related services provided by BuyMyTEK LLC (BuyMyTEK, we, us, or our).
By accessing or using the website, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you submit a trade-in or manual-review request, you also agree to the separate Trade-In Terms and Conditions presented during submission.
If you do not agree with these terms, do not use the website or submit equipment to BuyMyTEK.
1. Eligibility
The BuyMyTEK website and trade-in services are intended only for individuals who meet all of the following requirements. By using the service, you represent that you satisfy them.
- You are at least 18 years old.
- You are located within the United States.
- You have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement.
- You are authorized to sell or submit the equipment involved.
2. BuyMyTEK Services
BuyMyTEK provides online tools that may allow users to perform the following activities.
- Receive estimated or instant trade-in offers.
- Submit laptops, desktops, and other equipment for manual review.
- Submit Business IT inventories for evaluation.
- Arrange eligible shipping.
- Monitor submitted trade-ins through Seller Hub.
- Communicate with BuyMyTEK regarding a trade-in.
- Review inspection, offer, shipping, and recorded payout statuses.
- Access ValueSight pricing and market-research information.
- Participate in eligible Seller Loyalty Points and TEKDEALS programs when available.
Service changes
Features may be added, changed, suspended, or discontinued when reasonably necessary. Changes will not alter an already accepted trade-in agreement retroactively unless required by law or agreed to by both parties.
3. Accounts and Secure Seller Access
Certain features require email verification or secure Seller Hub access. You are responsible for the following.
- Providing accurate contact information.
- Keeping access links, verification codes, and account credentials secure.
- Promptly notifying BuyMyTEK if you believe access has been compromised.
- Ensuring that communications submitted through your account are authorized.
Unauthorized access
You may not access another seller's account, trade-in, messages, review request, or identifying information without authorization. BuyMyTEK may restrict or suspend access when reasonably necessary to investigate fraud, unauthorized access, abuse, security threats, or violations of these terms.
4. Accurate Information
Information submitted to BuyMyTEK must be complete and accurate to the best of your knowledge. This includes the following.
- Product model and specifications.
- Storage or memory capacity.
- Manufacturer and configuration.
- Condition and functionality.
- Missing or included components.
- Physical or liquid damage.
- Activation locks and account restrictions.
- Packaging and accessories.
- Quantity and ownership.
Consequences of inaccurate information
Providing false, misleading, or incomplete information may result in an adjusted offer, rejection, return, delayed payment, account restriction, or other action permitted by the Trade-In Terms.
5. Pricing and ValueSight Information
Quotes, resale ranges, marketplace estimates, demand indicators, and other ValueSight information are estimates based on available information and BuyMyTEK's current research.
Third-party marketplace estimates are provided for comparison and educational purposes. They are not guarantees that the seller will receive the displayed amount from BuyMyTEK or another marketplace.
Trade-in offers are governed by the Trade-In Terms and Conditions.
- Model and configuration.
- Condition and functionality.
- Current resale demand.
- Shipping and handling costs.
- Marketplace fees.
- Included accessories or packaging.
- Inspection findings.
- Quantity and shipment economics.
6. Business IT Requests
Business IT submissions may involve mixed equipment lots, organizational refreshes, surplus inventory, recyclers, schools, offices, or other business assets.
A Business IT submission is a request for review and does not require BuyMyTEK to purchase the submitted equipment. Additional documentation, inventory validation, proof of authority, logistics planning, or separately negotiated written terms may be required.
Unless separate written terms are agreed to, these Terms of Use and the applicable Trade-In Terms govern the transaction.
7. Seller Loyalty Points and TEKDEALS
Seller Loyalty Points may be issued for eligible trade-ins, promotions, or other qualifying activity. TEKDEALS is currently marked Coming Soon; any future products will be subject to availability and terms displayed with the applicable item.
- Points are promotional and have no cash value unless BuyMyTEK expressly states otherwise.
- Points cannot be transferred, sold, or redeemed for cash.
- Points may be applied only to eligible purchases or promotions when redemption becomes available.
- Eligibility, redemption limits, and restrictions may vary.
- Fraudulently obtained points may be revoked.
- BuyMyTEK may modify or discontinue a rewards program prospectively.
8. Acceptable Use
You may not use BuyMyTEK services to engage in the following activities.
- Fraudulent or unlawful activity.
- Submitting stolen, leased, financed, counterfeit, or unauthorized property.
- Circumventing authentication, security, authorization, or rate limits.
- Attempting to access another seller's information.
- Introducing malware or harmful code.
- Scraping, copying, or extracting protected pricing data at scale.
- Interfering with website operation.
- Impersonating another person or business.
- Using automated systems to abuse quoting, rewards, messaging, or research tools.
- Reverse engineering protected portions of the platform except where legally permitted.
- Using BuyMyTEK branding or content in a misleading manner.
9. Communications
By submitting contact information, you authorize BuyMyTEK to send service-related communications regarding the following.
- Verification.
- Quotes and review requests.
- Shipping preparation.
- Inspection.
- Adjusted offers.
- Seller Hub messages.
- Payout status.
- Account or security notices.
Transactional and marketing messages
Transactional communications are not promotional marketing. Marketing communications, if offered, will be handled according to applicable consent and opt-out requirements.
10. Third-Party Services
The website may rely on third-party services for hosting, security, email delivery, maps, recycling-location information, shipping, carrier tracking, and other operations.
Third-party services may be governed by their own terms and privacy policies. BuyMyTEK is not responsible for third-party websites or services outside its control, but it remains responsible for its own obligations under applicable law.
Recycling and carrier locations displayed through Google Maps or Places are not BuyMyTEK partners unless explicitly identified as such. Users must independently confirm accepted items or prepaid packages, fees, hours, and handling requirements.
11. Intellectual Property
The website, branding, software, page designs, original copy, ValueSight features, databases, graphics, and other original content are owned by or licensed to BuyMyTEK and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.
You may use the website only for its intended personal or business purpose. No ownership rights are transferred to you. Product names and third-party trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.
12. Disclaimer of Warranties
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE WEBSITE AND GENERAL INFORMATION ARE PROVIDED AS IS AND AS AVAILABLE.
Nothing in this section eliminates warranties or consumer rights that cannot legally be waived.
- BuyMyTEK does not warrant that the website will always be available or error-free.
- BuyMyTEK does not warrant that all third-party information will be complete or current.
- BuyMyTEK does not warrant that market estimates will match actual resale results.
- BuyMyTEK does not warrant that every item will qualify for an offer.
- BuyMyTEK does not warrant that every Business IT request will be accepted.
13. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BUYMYTEK LLC WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, PUNITIVE, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING FROM GENERAL WEBSITE USE, INCLUDING LOST PROFITS, LOST OPPORTUNITIES, OR LOST DATA.
For a claim directly related to a trade-in, the additional limitations in the Trade-In Terms and Conditions apply.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including liability arising from fraud, willful misconduct, or other non-waivable obligations.
14. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold BuyMyTEK LLC harmless from third-party claims arising from the following. This obligation does not apply to claims caused by BuyMyTEK's own unlawful conduct.
- Equipment you did not have authority to sell.
- False ownership representations.
- Unlawful or fraudulent use of the website.
- Your violation of another person's rights.
- Your material violation of these terms.
15. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where federal law or a seller's non-waivable consumer protections apply.
16. Disputes
Before filing a formal claim, you and BuyMyTEK agree to make a good-faith effort to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days. Disputes related to a submitted trade-in are governed by the dispute-resolution section of the Trade-In Terms and Conditions.

17. Changes to These Terms
BuyMyTEK may revise these Terms of Use prospectively. Material changes will be identified by a revised effective date or version. Changes will not retroactively alter a completed transaction unless required by law or agreed to by the affected parties.
18. Severability and Waiver
If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain effective to the maximum extent permitted by law. A failure to enforce a provision on one occasion does not waive the right to enforce it later.
